After my first visit, I left feeling disappointed and unheard. During the appointment, I felt like he cut me off and did not give me enough time to fully explain my concerns. As a patient, I believe it is important to feel listened to, especially when discussing neurological health. Because of this experience, I am unsure if I want to continue seeing him for future care. Edit: I want to update that he is still doing great work, seizure free and his specialty is Epilepsy. He is the only neurologist that was able to stop my seizures, his social skills aren't perfect but he is good at what he does. Absolutely horrible bedside manner. Doesn’t listen to the patients, talks over them, is rude and disrespectful. Would not recommend at all. Horrible experience.
I think Dr. Thankappan gets a bad rap due to him seeming a little "stiff" (for lack of better words). He seems to be honestly concerned for my health. His specialty is in sleep disorders so a lot of his concerns will be about your sleep. I have been critical of this and of his previous temp MA due to her comments to me. Dr. Thankappan has replaced her and is working on improving his patients experience.
I would have received better care from my dog's vet. He had as much interest in me as a leaf on the ground. Let's just say I'm not sure where he went to medical school but wow! how can they let him practice medicine.
