The owner seemed knowledgeable but after buying a ring with what I was told was a high end garnet, I had it appraised and it was not a garnet at all. While there, it felt a little like a used car sale with other shoppers who were obviously friends acting like they were going to buy the ring, and an "gem expert" who happened to be there telling me the ring was legit.
