I'm a native Japanese who visit Japan pretty much every year. I've been to many sushi bars in my home town areas, Tokyo, Osaka, and many local fishing ports in Japan. Azayaka in Roseville is one of my favorite sushi bars in the US for the quality of fish with some fish from Japan, and also for reasonable prices. To serve fresh quality fish costs more, but this restaurant has kept price reasonable. It's my regular now.
Food was pretty good and fresh. Meat was hot, and fresh. Price is reasonable and environment is quite welcoming.
Delicious food and excellent service! Came here for lunch on the way from Tahoe to Bay Area. Sashimi, chirashi don, unagi don, and miso soup were all top notch. Highly recommend!
We picked up take out and we’re so disappointed. We remembered the sushi being good from when they just opened. We ordered 5 rolls and had a piece from each one and ended up throwing it all away. 90$ down the garbage disposal. The fish tasted not fresh and had a weird texture and was topped with loads of toppings like cabbage and grilled lemon grass which seemed like was used trying to cover something up and made the sushi even less eatable.
