My younger sister and I visited Blowing Rock ( one of our favorite destination ) and based on her previous experience with this establishment decided to spend last Sunday night ( 10/5/25 ). It was a very pleasant evening so we decided to go sit by there propane gas fire pit and after the video attempts and getting the staff to help us get it going it wouldn't work.!! The Azalea Garden Inn is filthy, unsafe, and dishonest—I was overcharged, exposed to black mold, and ended up in the ER. Stay far away. I am an avid traveler and have stayed at countless inns, hotels, and lodges both across the U.S. and abroad. My two-week stay at the Azalea Garden Inn in Boone, NC, ranks as the worst experience I have ever had. First, there was the issue of deceptive billing. If you want nice clean amenities do not stay here. The pictures in their website make the rooms look much better than what you get when you get here. The carpet in our room is a light brown carpet and is filthy and The bath towels are very straggly. The other reviews are correct in saying that it’s a quick walk to town, the owners are nice, etc., but I was very disappointed when we walked into it room.
