I love taking dance classes at Escola de Samba. Dancing has brought me so much joy and I have greatly improved since I started over a year ago. In addition to being an amazing dance instructor, the owner Jennifer Kolhouse is an extremely talented costume designer. I am truly grateful to be a part of the community here, it has brought me opportunities to perform and introduced me to the beauty of Brazilian culture and dance!
Fun! The teachers here are great, they are helping me keep up with my samba and music practice. They also ensure the Brazilian history & culture is taught and honored, which is important to me. I absolutely recommend taking classes here.
Jen is a phenomenal teacher with a wealth of experience. I definitely recommend her classes!
The most fun I have ever had in a dance class! I love not only learning how to dance Samba but actually learning about the history and music! I highly recommend this class to all ages and all levels of dance as Jennifer will always make sure everyone is learning at a comfortable pace!
Jen is a fantastic instructor! She knows exactly how to challenge her students in a way that pushes us to grow. The environment is supportive, uplifting, and empowering. The classes focus primarily on Samba, but every now and then, she introduces a variety of other dances from Brazilian culture, which adds to the richness of the experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking to step out of their comfort zone and have fun while doing it!
