Do NOT stay at any Charleston places by Vacasa. Just DON’T. Had to call corporate directly TWICE to get our issues taken care of. Our stay is from Aug 8-10th. Got a message TODAY (Aug 9th) we needed to collect our things for checkout and housekeeping was there. We were at the beach when we got this message (attached). Freaked out, I called the number and didn’t reach anything but a text line. I want to talk to someone, not text someone on a serious matter like this. Rented on West Hudson in Folly Beach. The rental has roaches. Not great seeing roaches come out of the shiplap walls!
Very comfortable studio apartment fully equipped within easy driving distance of downtown
Nice enough staff but low barre in terms of property maintenance. I checked into an oceanfront home at night that reeked of water damage upon entering to find it had been shut air tight, (as in the windows did not open at all) which is a recipe for mold in ocean climates. The "recently refurbished" flooring was buckling due to underlying moisture; indicating a quick cosmetic cover up and there was visible mold growth from behind the sheetrock in both bathrooms. As someone who lives full-time next to an Airbnb managed by Vacasa all I can say is that this company does not care about your property or neighbors in any way. We’ve had an ongoing noise issue with our next-door neighbors short term rental, and have gotten zero response or help from vacasa after many attempts.
