Watch out for the Cairns City staff member who refused to assist us with a car malfunction when we were supplied with a Mitsubishi Outlander "upgrade" from them. Never have we come across someone so rude. A huge thank you though to the lovely lady at the Townsville Airport who explained the fault with the new Outlander SUVs . If only the woman from Cairns had an ounce of empathy and was up to speed with this issue.

Whilst holidaying in Cairns we visited your Cairns city office and were assisted by a very cheerful and thorough Sheridan who did all she could to make arrangements for us for our car pickup later that week. When we came to pick up the car several days later the office was full of people waiting to be served. Sheridan was the only staff available at the time and we could see how she remained calm, good humoured and treated every customer with respect and thoroughness as if they were the only person there. Last December I went into Avis Cairns and ordered an SUV to be picked up and paid for at Melbourne Airport. Upon arrival in Melbourne I went to the Avis desk and when they got the booking up on their computer they told me that the vehicle was booked for rental in Cairns and not Melbourne and they then quoted a new price which doubled the original quote. We hired a car from this site and we’re dealt with by a very welcoming attendant. When we returned the vehicle with a full tank of fuel and cleaner than when we got we were again greeted politely and professionally. This is where it ends…….. it has been 4 weeks and our deposit has still not been returned!! As we are travelling, we cannot go to this office to clarify the matter and have no option but to speak to a call centre somewhere else on this planet.
