Do NOT use this AVIS to rent your car under any circumstance. I rented a car for a work-related function and found a LOADED gun in the glove compartment. I lost hours of my day contacting the police to ensure it was reported and handled safely. This could have resulted in a very different ending, but thank God it didn't. I appreciate Dean’s personal service so much and always prefer to rent here than at the (very poorly-run) GNV airport location. NOTE FOR LAST-MINUTE RENTERS: the Avis app/website unfortunately allows you to book and even pre-pay for rentals here even if there aren’t vehicles available. When that happens, Dean thoughtfully tries to call to let you know, but if you want to book same-day you should call the location first (using the local number not the toll-free one) to make sure there’s actually cars available. Outstanding customer service!
Super easy online booking. Made plans and good to go. Two hours later get a call from the local owner who was very nice letting me know he has no cars and that AVIS will gladly book a reservation when there are no cars. He clearly makes this call often. He also can’t cancel the reservation. Instead I need to call the 1-800 number for their call center to cancel. I reached out to Enterprise on University Ave - they had cars and I’m getting it this afternoon.
We are repeat customers who use this location because of Dean’s professionalism and customer service. Long may this location last!
