Visited to pick up a rental I reserved in advance at 11am July 11th. Arrived early & was advised a text was sent to everyone with reservations apologizing for the inconvenience but they have no rentals avble. I went back outside to try & find another rental place & car. About 20mins later I went back in to ask the young man a question & happen to ask if any vehicles came in & he said 1 just came in (black Mazda cx-50 ). I can wait abt 10 mins for it to be cleaned. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, not worth the headache in this bad economy….Rashad (assuming he’s the owner or manager). I was charged additional $150 for cleaning fee for having sand on the floor from our feet (we didn’t wear the same shoes that was worn on the beach so you know it was bare minimum). Rashad told me they charge $400 typically but only charged me $150, how do you determine this? A bunch of BS, no damage to the car just bare minimum SAND. I am a loyal Avis customer and rent vehicles frequently. Unfortunately, my experience with this location was incredibly frustrating and highlighted what appears to be a serious breakdown in both customer service and communication. The day before my rental, I spoke with Kumani Owens and explained my situation. He instructed me to call the branch approximately one hour before my 5:00 PM pickup time to check on vehicle availability. I am a long-time, loyal Avis customer and rent vehicles frequently. Unfortunately, this location has consistently delivered some of the worst customer service I have experienced from any company, let alone a major brand like Avis. Kumani Owens was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely uninterested in listening to or addressing my concerns.
