I booked a vehicle rental three months prior to my arrival. I rented the vehicle from Avis late at night at grand junction airport and was given one of two of the last cars available, of which they said the other one I could not take; leaving only one. The next morning in daylight, I saw the vehicle was filthy (mud caked on the wheels, trash and a cigar container inside) and quickly realized / heard with windows open, the brakes were grinding metal-to-metal. Very dissatisfied. I was told that my rental should be returned at 3pm from a wonderful gentleman who helped me rent my vehicle in Gunnison. When I returned the rental to Grand junction location I was then told I was late by two hours arrived at 245pm . Im a very responsible car renter I did see on the paperwork where it stated 1 pm which essentially is my responsibility but he stated it could of been a courtesy which I fully believe it was and and still changed my rate to a much higher cost then I was originally quoted.
