TL;DR: document everything if you're renting with Avis - they like to randomly charge you for things you didn't do. I rented a Toyota RAV4 at the end of July. Upon picking up the car, I noticed rock chips on windshield and mentioned that to the AVIS employee. I was told it would be listed as pre-existing and I’d be fine. When returning the car, I mentioned again to the AVIS employee at car lot that the rock chips were pre-existing and I have video proof, I was agin told I’d be fine and they’d note it as pre-existing. Very conveniently located in the airport arrival lobby. Our car was parked in the parking lot of the hotel, and it took us less than 10 minutes before we started to be able to drive our rental car.
There are 2 people assisting a line of well over 50 people. We pre-reserved & have been waiting over an hour with no end in site. The current customer has been talking to the service rep for 20 minutes. The line hasn’t moved. Really unfortunate.
