Deceptive Pricing and Unfair Cancellation Charge Absolutely unacceptable experience with Avis. I was in the middle of checking out a rental when the rate suddenly changed without any notification. No warning, no explanation—just a higher price at the final screen. Naturally, I canceled the reservation immediately—literally five minutes after booking—and was STILL slapped with a $50 cancellation fee. This is blatant price manipulation and completely unethical. Reserved an SUV online. Got called right before pickup that they canceled my reservations because they don't have the vehicle and then proceeded to say that the online website is wrong and they don't use it. Also refused to issue refund and just referred to the AVIS customer service and that "they" are the ones to talk to. AVIS CS threatened to charge the $150 cancelation fee, 2 hours phone call later they finally called this branch to verify they canceled it. Rude. Unprofessional. Terrible. Never using AVIS in my life.
