I have to commend the outstanding customer service given to me by "Lou" at the counter at the Cleveland Airport on the evening of August 3rd, 2025. Something out of her control, she had a line of at least 30 people deep and the patience she displayed with the people who were upset about the long line was exceptional! Made reservations in advance for a vehicle on 29 July. Upon arrival at the terminal, no one was in the Avis line. The clerk was on the phone and ignored the customer waiting. After a considerable time waiting, I was waived to the counter. Upon completing my paperwork for a vehicle, I was told to exit the doors and my vehicle would be delivered to me there. I would agree with others that this is one of the worst Avis locations out there. The people that work here are routinely rude. I had an employee say to me “what do you want me to do about it, you are in the middle of Mayberry”, meaning - I was stranded at the airport and if I didn’t follow his commands, he wasn’t going to rent me a car (although I am Presidents Club). Also, they have an Express Exit scanner - but it doesn’t work and when you inquire as to when it will be repaired the employees will tell you “likely never”…
11:30 pm. 15 people waiting to be helped. One pour guy by himself and he has a question, opens the door to the back office where presumably a manager is sitting. Ignoring all of the customers waiting. Deplorable!
Be prepared to wait 3 hours to get your car.
