I’ve rented cars all over the world. And there are few with worse customer service than this Avis. Called corporate to ask a simple question. Not able to answer. Returned vehicle a day early - was told we would receive the money back, I did not. Car needed an oil change badly. Told us they wouldn’t do one. Charged us a cleaning fee, after we asked if there was a vaccuum at their location because we knew the floor mats needed it. They said it wouldn’t be a problem. Just horrible service all around. Be very careful with Avis. I am a local. My own car is at a dealership being repaired, and I rented a car from this location as it was the only one open outside my working hours. It is currently winter in Michigan and we've had quite a bit of snow and ice. I drove the car for a few days and it was slippery and didn't drive well, but I was able to get to work and figured there was just a learning curve since I am used to an AWD vehicle with snow tires. Rented a car from Avis in early December. The car came from the 28th St. location and was great. However, I had reserved two booster seats which they did not have and sent me to this (airport) location. I had to wait 55 minutes for them to get the booster seats, as they were being held at the service building. When I got home to install them, they had been bagged as if cleaned, but upon opening them, one had mold growth. It was too late to return/swap as we had to drive to Chicago that evening.

Reserved a car. Pre-checked and prepaid with full insurance. When I arrived I was told all they have are compact electric vehicles and it’s out of their control. I specifically reserved the vehicle I did because there is no way to charge it at my destination. This is an Avis problem so nothing personal against the staff.
