I rented from Avis at SFO and was surprised to receive a $250 “cleaning fee” posted after I returned the car for one week. At drop-off, the staff inspected the vehicle and told me I was all set—no mention of extra cleaning. When I questioned the charge, Avis sent a report that indeed showed some sand in the car. I acknowledge that light sand may warrant a reasonable cleaning fee, but $250 is disproportionate for what looks like routine vacuuming—there were no spills, stains, pet hair, or odors. Trascorsi i 28 giorni massimo per la restituzione della cauzione, non avendo ricevuto nessun riaccredito, contatto il servizio per chiedere informazioni. Rispondono che potrebbe essere la società di gestione della carta di credito che sta trattenendo la somma. Contatto la società di gestione della carta e mi confermano che non c’è nessuna trattenuta in atto . La sensazione è che attribuiscano ad altri le colpe della non restituzione della cauzione. I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Avis at San Francisco Intl Airport (SFO). I was given an estimated total of $989.55 for a one-month rental (Rental Agreement #426468976). However, the final charge was over $2,000, more than double the estimate. This happened because they switched the billing from a monthly rate to a weekly rate without any notification or consent. If I could give this zero stars I would. The only highlight is the manager Nicole who was super helpful. Aside from that it’s a disaster.
