Dr. Jeanne is patient, caring, and wise. She sees birds by zoom, which is great for people who live in remote rural areas. I wish I had known about her a year ago. I could have saved my chickens (and myself) so much suffering. Before Dr. Jeanne, I was using google to find answers, and some of the suggestions I followed were outright harmful to my poor hens. I will definitely contact her again with any chicken related needs.
I had both my birds, 11 and 3, experienced symptoms of lethargy and regurgitation following boarding. I was referred by urgent care for follow ups at this specialist. The vet was knowledgeable and preformed exams on both of them. The older of the birds required antibiotics and anti-nausia medication. Which was recommended as a just in case, which we ended up needing. Today after a month, some supplements and meds. Both birds are healthly and happy thanks to this vet office. I went to the vet on Thursday for my bird inko my poor baby after losing his mate then there was more problems with him and I thought he was going to be okay.after I give him the medicine the vet lied to me as I got home he started seizing from the medicine and unfortunately passed away in my hands I called the vet before he passed away and they told me he was going to be fine then I called the next day and total what happened and I thought I was going to get sympathy but no they just told me "well that's just life you could... read more
Jeanne Smith of Avian Health Services saved our bird during an emergency situation. In general, Avian Vets are difficult to locate and schedule. Avian Health Services took us dozens of phone calls over a couple hours to locate, but when we did, they scheduled us for the same day which was critical. Jeanne is very expert at what she does and as I mentioned, saved our bird. In our case it was a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Avian Health Services and well worth it.
