Harris and Smith OB (Dr Avery) delivered my baby at Duke Regional in 2014. We discussed by birth plan beforehand and it was agreed on. There was never any issue with my baby and I wanted to labor on my side. Dr. Avery came in later & said I had to get on my back but I refused. Then she said " You need to listen to my authority" and threw a fit out in the hall while my baby was crowning. Everyone at the location is nice. From the front desk staff to the nurses. Dr. Avery is really nice too and I met her last year and saw her again this year.
Dr Avery is a wonderful physician and her bedside manner is firm but caring. She has been in practice for over 20 years and I would recommend her to anyone.
