I have been taking my pets to Dr. Allen Averette for more than 20 years. He is caring and spends a lot of time with patients. He does not push medications or procedures, but tries to give balanced options. When my dog had a bad eye problem, Dr. Averette treated it but immediately referred me to vet eye specialist in Birmingham. This office is a horror house for pets. Beware! I have seen them kill a couple of animals, with lots of unnecessary suffering before death. This "doctor" cares about his pocketbook, not about animals. One of the animals was put down by another vet to stop the suffering because Averette insisted it had to have surgery, though huge cancer was visible and animal was obviously suffering and dying; Averette refused to see it before scheduled surgery date. Please don't take your animal here.
he prescribed my dog carprofen b4 he did any lab work on her and 2 days later she bled internally while we were gone! DR. AVERETTE killed my dog! be careful! :(

Good veterinarin My daughter uses this veterinarin and really likes them. Dr. Averette is very good with her dogs and runs a very clean place.
