I have been seeing Stephanie at Aveley Clinical Psychology for a few years now and I couldn’t wish for a more understanding, supportive , compassionate psychologist. To be frank if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here writing this today. Stephanie knows me well and has seen me through so much trauma both old and new and along the way has assessed when further help and support is needed and has gone above and beyond to ensure that I’ve always had the help and support that I’ve needed when Ive needed it . I am so grateful that I found Stephanie at Aveley Clinical Psychology! I was recommended by a friend and honestly, I am feeling much better after a long road of trauma and toxic relationships to work through. It takes time, but with guidance from Stephanie I was able to focus on small achievable steps. I recommend her to anyone wanting support and direction with their mental health journey .
I had opened up about a severe phobia of mine, Stephanie dismissed me and basically told me to get over it. Very unprofessional and honestly disgusting advice, I would not recommend anyone wasting their money with her.
Couples therapy. Session felt disorganised, she was dismissive and minimised my feelings and concerns within abusive relationship. Downplayed the trauma my children and I have suffered and gave no actual advice to either of us. Thankfully I found a clinical psychologist experienced in this area after police involvement and having to get an FVRO. May be great for other areas but definitely don’t recommend for DV issues or couples therapy.
The sessions themselves were fine. But my Psychologist seemed disorganized. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and ended waiting an hour because she was mixed up with something, I almost left. Another time I texted her a question regarding my sessions and she didn't get back to me. Maybe it was just bad circumstances, but it was enough for me to stop going.
