Worth the wait! We just moved here and I desperately needed a haircut and highlights done to my hair. I did not want to pay the expensive price at an unknown salon so I looked into hair institutes. Aveda is known for their wonderful products so when I heard there was an institute; I had to check them out. Upon calling, I was told that there was a waiting list and that's it's generally a good idea to call a month in advance. Do you feel lucky? If you like to gamble and you are really desperate to save a few bucks, then go here, otherwise stick with real licensed professionals, because you will have to sign a waiver when you go in that you will not sue the school or students for any damages or injury. I recently got highlights and requested twice as many highlights as low lights and instead I got twice as many low lights as highlights making my hair really dark. AVEDA CHARLOTTE IS YUCKY! terrible....awful...results were terrible and service is terrible. Exercise extreme caution before entrusting your hair to Aveda Charlotte. The students are very inexperienced and you would be better off letting a cranky toddler handle your hair care!

A Great Man's Haircut This goes out to Lauren Hawkins who gave me a fabulous haircut and beard trim today. And, of course, the accompanying Aveda massage prior to any cutting was incredible. Lauren was great going over my options for a change in hair styles (she even showed me pics-so, of course, I chose the George Clooney look!) Talked about Aveda natural based products and the Aveda Mission Statement. I really enjoyed the haircut and talking to Lauren was fun. Great price for hair or spa service! It's like going to Outback on a McDonald's budget! I normally go to Carmen & Carmen and pay $40 for a simple layered cut plus tip. A friend recommended the Aveda Institute to me, and her hair looked great, so I thought I'd try it out. I made an appointment for a month later since they were so booked. I found out that they sometimes take walk-ins if they have capacity. When I arrived, I was surprised at what a beautiful, upscale facility it is. Pedicures good, haircut BAAADDD I got a very good pedicure a couple of months ago- they use good brands of polish and didn't see any bottles that looked like they'd been sitting on the shelf for a year. I got the more intense pedi and it included a leg and foot exfoliant and leg massage. I believe that it was under $20- what a steal! No massage chairs, but everything else was great. Well ventilated and private nail area from rest of school. Recommended.
