I called to see if there was a visitation program or a volunteer program or some way to support the patients at the facility. The front desk lady answered and was so kind but upon being transferred to the “lady that handles it” she couldn’t have been any nastier - answering with a harsh “who is this” and it going downhill from there. I would imagine working at a memory facility requires much kindness and patience and she has neither.
Avalon McKinney is a great facility for dementia care! They treated our mom with respect and dignity through a very emotional time. The facility was always clean and the care givers were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend!
What an awesome connection the staff has with each resident. They know how to handle situations discreetly and with empathy while encouraging residents to enjoy the moment. Great communication among staff, with families, and with corporate too. I love how they inspire residents to gather in the big living room with the open kitchen. My mom has been staying at Avalon memory care in McKinney Ranch facility for the last six months, and I’m really happy with the care she receives. The staff is kind and attentive, always making sure each resident is comfortable and well cared for. The facility is always clean, providing a warm and welcoming environment. I couldn't found a better place for my dad. They were kind and loving to him always. His needs were taken of completely during his time there. I could not recommend them any more highly! This was a great place!
