DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. Oh my god. This place was horrible. I didn’t even have an eating disorder, I had a medical condition. They diagnosed me with an eating disorder so insurance would cover my stay. The therapists treated me like shit, holding entire groups where the other kids would go around saying how disgusting I was for the vomiting caused by my medical condition. Avalon saved my life. I’d been to previous treatment centers and while I got a glimpse of life in recovery, nothing compares to what I received from Avalon. It’s hard to write a concise review for a place that changed my life, but I’ll do my best. I came to Avalon completely broken. Going to Avalon Hills was truly life-changing, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. It’s unlike any other residential or treatment center.
