DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. Oh my god. This place was horrible. I didn’t even have an eating disorder, I had a medical condition. They diagnosed me with an eating disorder so insurance would cover my stay. The therapists treated me like shit, holding entire groups where the other kids would go around saying how disgusting I was for the vomiting caused by my medical condition. After throwing up, they made me sit at a table for hours upon hours while I tried to drink an insane amount of boost. Of course, drinking it always mad... read more

Avalon saved my life. I’d been to previous treatment centers and while I got a glimpse of life in recovery, nothing compares to what I received from Avalon. First off, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect environment to recover - the scenery is just magnificent. The staff is the most caring, experienced group of professionals I’ve ever came across. After months of fighting against the program, I finally broke down and gav... read more

Going to Avalon Hills was truly life-changing, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. It’s unlike any other residential or treatment center. Before going, I didn’t want to get better—I didn’t even believe recovery was possible. But the people there meet you exactly where you’re at. They genuinely care, help you build self-compassion, and guide you in understanding the deeper causes of your eating disorder. I gained so many valuable skills, even learning how to play the guitar. The groups are meaningful and not sup... read more

Thank you to the entire Avalon Hills community for saving my daughter from a scary downward spiral. We are especially appreciative of the high-quality program and the kind staff. She learned many life-long lessons in her 3.5 months at Avalon. She is doing well!
