This has to be the most money hungry doctor’s office I have ever come across. They schedule countless futile appointments (genuinely, they make you schedule an appointment for EVERYTHING, including just wanting medication for a stomach virus, even when you can’t get an appointment until AFTER the bug has passed) and it is absolutely ridiculous. They are money hungry. They want to charge me for a bill from early 2024 but didn't tell me. I paid my copay for the visit in July; they tell me that went to the bill from 2024, and I need to pay for the visit again. I called about the bill, and no one could tell me what the bill was for. I got three different reasons I was charged for their mistake in 2024.
If you are a new patient and making an appointment for wellness appointment you should check their rule that they will submit your billing to insurance as a medical/office visit instead of wellness visit. This can result in your insurance not paying for the visit and you paying for the bills.
I rarely write reviews, but I think it’s important to give credit where it’s due and spread the word about local businesses when you consistently receive “above and beyond” service - and that has certainly been my experience as a patient of Avalon Family Care for the last couple of years.
