Every appt here my BP would be "high" but as soon as they took it manually it would be normal (this happened 8 times)But my 39w appt the nurse took it and guess what "high" even though it was normal all weekend after that and during my entire labor. If you are hoping for a natural and physiological pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience: I do not recommend Avalon midwifery care. My daughter (whom I had in their care) is now 2.5 years old, I have taken my time to think on this review before leaving it. Avalon is in partnership with the medical industry and the neighboring hospital. They are beholden to many unnecessary medical interventions. They can seem small, but they are not. And they add up.Their midwives rotate. You do not know who you will have at your birth. ... read more
I had switched to the midwives at the very end of my first pregnancy and had an amazing experience. My prior practice failed to make me feel personally cared for in every sense. My last straw with my prior practice was the Dr walking in saying they had thought I already delivered and asking me yet again what gender I was having.
