The Zero Star reviews are correct! I tried multiple times to get them to cancel a subscription that I did not want but they are still billing me. They have threatened to send this to a collection agency if I don’t pay. They are unethical! Avoid this business if you can! 6-5 update: It took this Google review but they refunded my money. Changing to 2 stars

I cannot recommend Avalara to anyone. If you are considering using their services, please read this review carefully to avoid the nightmare my small business has endured. Avalara provides sales tax compliance software—an essential, time-sensitive service for any business. In 2021, we upgraded to Shopify Plus specifically to use Avalara’s Avatax at the recommendation of our CPA. This program promised unlimited transactions for $250/month. Horrible. My business is closed down and they still proceeded to charge my card and I am going on 10 days now and multiple calls to support trying to get a refund. This has to be some type of FTC violation, i gave them notice and my business is closed so why have you not refunded me!?

Avalara provides absolutely no customer service or account management. Employees seemed trained to avoid answering emails or scheduling calls to be responsive to customer issues. The company must be financially strained because they are quick to bill you even if it’s erroneous. We have been trying to get an erroneous billing issue sorted out for months & we are continually ignored by everyone at Avalara.
