My mom passed away in May while at this facility under hospice “care.” What I still cannot understand, and may never come to terms with, is how so many of her belongings went missing. We asked multiple times, before she passed, for someone to help us locate her things. She lived there for four years. Yes, she changed rooms, but that doesn’t explain why so many of her personal items simply vanished. Readers beware: I rarely review, but this is important. If this is TL;DR then at least read the last updated paragraph of this review only. Don’t be fooled by the overall inflated rating of this place- it is mostly from people who work there who were likely advised by management to leave a good review. Pay close attention to the actual visitors of loved ones here. Also please know most nursing homes are horrible. Bad experience and the workers don't care about my family member. I don’t recommend this nursing home for anyone! 0/10 I don’t recommend.
I normally don’t write reviews but had to make an exception and give credit where credit is due. My Dad has been at Autumn Care of Norfolk for the past 2 months and the attention and care that he has received is nothing short of excellent! This is the 3rd home he has been in and this is the happiest I’ve seen him. The care and customer service there is second to none.
