AutoCamp Russian River, now AutoCamp Sonoma was a lovely getaway. The staff were wonderful, and Jill at the front desk was so helpful with recommendations for dining, hiking, and places to go. The airstreams were kept well and clean. Guerneville where it’s located was a pleasant surprise. It looks like such a throwback in time with old storefronts and houses, but the people were hip and warm and super welcoming to everyone. Easy grocery shopping right up the street as well. A peaceful lil spot in the redwoods. Staff are such lovely people. The whole experience is one I look forward to every year (5th time to this location).

The original (og) AutoCamp is very compact and feels like you are camping in somebody’s backyard. I brought a dog with me and was restricted to a dog friendly trailer - so not sure if the experience is different if you are traveling without a pet. This is definitely a drive up and sleep type of venue. There’s a lot of great hiking in the region, but not a lot of good trails/walks that go right from this spot. We definitely enjoyed our time at Autocamp this summer. We stayed in an Airstream and it was very well-equipped with everything we needed. The property is situated in a very peaceful spot in Guerneville amongst the redwoods, with fire pits and a big lawn in the common area. One of the highlights for us was borrowing the bikes and taking a ride through the neighborhood.
