I had my twin Stromberg carbs of my Lotus Elan rebuilt by Rudy at Autocarbs for around $800 which I considered fairly resonable at the time. I then had them fitted to the car and returned with the car for a final tune. My pride n joy 1986 4WD Mitsubishi van is running beautifully after dropping it in for a full carby service! I wish I had been put onto this team sooner, I had a reoccurring problem that they were able to troubleshoot super fast and have it back with me after just a couple of days! I brought my HiAce in and clearly asked multiple times for a quote before any repairs. They agreed but never contacted me. Instead they went ahead and serviced the carburetor replaced parts like the fuel filter and cleaned the air filter all without asking or getting approval. A few days later I received a bill for over $900. No written agreement no phone call no consent just a completed job I never agreed to. What Rudy and Scott don't know about carbies and mechanics ain't worth knowing ! These geniuses went above and beyond to not only fix my carb that no one else could..but also tweaked other issues they found I never saw. I guess 30 years tells you the quality....
Scott and the Auto Carbs team were fantastic in fixing up a carby issue with an old Camaro. Assisted in a RWC and an electrical issue, as well as tidying up the vehicle for sale. Very friendly, professional and helpful with great communication keeping me updated throughout the process.
