So I’m Having bad experiences of the autism society as an autistic adult. The one in Charlotte literally told autistic adults not to come to the group because “we scare away the parents because they look at us and think that’s how their kid is going to turn out.” That was very mean and happened a long time ago but still happened. After moving to surry county I made a post on their fb page asking if any groups for autistic adults. The post remained for about 4 months and a mom asked if this ever happened. I said no.
