Service was ok and smooth but just 3 days after the service my Amarok's driver belt and tensioner pully broke and the vehicle broke down on the road. Isn't thd whole purpose of service is to proactively identify these sort of problems? And the response from the service centre reception was not really empathetic.Told they were fully booked out and i need to bring the vehicle in next week or take it to another servicecentre.
Appalling service! I was charged $1500 for a service where they did little more than inspect! I had informed VW that RACQ had found a fault that needed to be urgently fixed. VW ignored that advice and sent me home in a van that was too dangerous to be driven. It broke down immediately and had to be towed back to them. They then charged me an extra $500 and adfitionally did not fix a tyre leak as requested! For 3 days I heard nothing and when I called received a text soon after advising van could be picked up. For context I've been a loyal customer having serviced my VW golf at this Newstead service branch yearly since it was purchased over 10 years ago. Every year previous to last week I would give the service rating a 8-9/10. Austral Volkswagen Newstead hides behind “environmental savings” while cutting basic customer services. No car wash, no drinking water, no cups, no coffee, no vacuum—yet full service charges apply. This isn’t sustainability, it’s cost-cutting at the customer’s expense. Very poor customer experience.
