I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Traumatic experience is putting it mildly, along with what to do and live a normal life!! By no choice of my own, I was assigned to Austin Medical for ostomy supplies (a major learning curve for me!) The doctor/hospital or someone contacted them and Austin sent me a box with all kinds of things, which I had no idea what 1/2 of this stuff is. OSTOMY PATIENTS BEWARE OF THIS SUPPLIER !! I did not choose Austin Medical Supplies in Maryland, as my hospital made the arrangements following my ostomy surgery. Had I known then what I know now I never would have accepted them as a provider. Here's why; 1) I frequently received shipments of ostomy pouches that were late, and this is not a medical item you can live without. 2) On a few occasions I received pouch supplies that Austin ordered from Coloplast, a completely different manufacturer that was not intended to be used... read more

I have colon cancer. Sadly I found out a several months ago and had the operation, where your colon gets re-routed to the front of your body. Traumatic experience is putting it mildly, along with what to do and live a normal life!! By no choice of my own, I was assigned to Austin Medical for ostomy supplies (a major learning curve for me!)
