They gaslight and refuse to understand patient needs. Definitely go elsewhere. May karma win.
My mom went to the er with a sprained knee and was treated terribly by doctor Valerian Peterson. They did tests and the doctor never came in, never checked her knee once, and all the sudden was given discharge papers when she never spoke to this joke of a doctor once. He threatened to send her to a live in nursing facility when she said she felt like she wasn’t being treated right. I visited the ALMC Emergency Department at Aurora Health Care after being injured by another snowboarder. While the physician and supervising staff were professional and helpful, my experience with one nurse during discharge was deeply disappointing. When I asked how to access my medical records to ensure accuracy, the nurse was dismissive, provided contradictory information, and repeatedly pointed me to a web link without offering any clear instructions or assistance. First time I was in New emergency department and its a definite improvement over April 2024. Today, all staff was professional, courteous, patient, respectful. I have a complex rare disease and this was the first time in at least a decade I was treated with dignity by Aurora Lakeland Emergency Dept staff. Lake Geneva Fire Dept Rescue Squad, and Superior Ambulance services were very kind as well and well coordinated. I am baffled by these negative reviews. We were brought here by the EMTs when my daughter was having seizures. The doctors, nurses and staff were all very caring and professional. We wound up being transferred to CHOW, but I did feel like we got excellent care from doctors Avila and Robb and nurse Leann while we were at Lakeland.
