Is that hideous monstrosity behind it PART of this gorgeous building?? They should have been beaten for doing that and ruining the look of a stunning piece of architecture. Who dumps ugly HVAC stuff right out in the open?? YUCK. We HIDE that ugly junk in the back! It IS nice to see it rehabbed to any extent though, and any building owner will tell you how expensive an old building can (easily) be. "No man can be a communist who has his own house and lot. What a beautiful yet tragic piece of American history. The tour guide was so sweet and welcoming. She actually told me that parts of the stage where Malcolm X was killed are in the basement of that building
