Spent a few hours at Audley Boatshed and the experience was decent overall. The location is definitely the highlight, surrounded by beautiful bushland, calm water, and plenty of space to relax or enjoy a picnic. Hiring a kayak or rowboat is a nice way to explore the area, especially on a sunny day. The atmosphere feels peaceful and makes for a good escape from the busy city. We had great family time here on a lovely sunny day! Friendly staffs, clean amenities
We went mid week and had the river mostly to ourselves. We got there at opening so were first in line for the sole duck boat. There are plenty of life jackets including for kids and baby (although we brought our own for the baby just in case). Staff were efficient and helped us on and off. The water is very serene but if you can't swim wear the jackets. Public toilets are in the same car park which was convenient. Bring hat and sunscreen for the boat as there is not much of a roof. Kind and helpful staff, good selection of boats, affordable prices, easy and fast to arrange rental and get onto the water without an advance booking. Absolutely beautiful way to be in the National Park, paddling down the Hacking River. Overall an amazing experience, worth doing however long the drive there - highly recommended.
