My wife has severe congenital hearing loss in both ears and has worn hearing aids most of her life. Once we got married, we went to several places to upgrade her old ones. We tried a major chain a few miles of our home. They gave her an in-the-ear model that, while newer than her German antique, never did quite perform as well.
