We've been Au Lit customers for years and have spent thousands of dollars with them — which makes this so disappointing. We ordered custom fitted sheets for our 9" European mattress, and they arrived comically loose. Their explanation: they build in extra fabric to account for shrinkage over time. Months later, the sheet still hasn't shrunk to fit — if anything it's gotten looser — and when I asked for a replacement or refund, I was flatly refused with no flexibility or problem-solving whatsoever. I’m very disappointed with both the quality of this product and the customer service. I purchased a beautiful blue towel from this store, but after just one wash (in a regular colour load using Tide detergent), the dye bled badly and left the towel looking blotchy and ruined. This was after a single wash, which is completely unacceptable for a new product. I reached out to the company expecting this to be a simple case of a faulty item that would be replaced. I am so pleased with the help I received in looking for a particular colour for pillow cases. It was never too much trouble for them to give extra help or advice or to send their beautifully presented samples for me to look at. Although the colour did not work out (and no fault of Au Lit Fine Linens) the pillow cases were of excellent quality and have found a home. I had such a lovely shopping experience at the Yonge Street location of Au Lit Fine Linens. I went in to buy new bedding and was so impressed with both the selection and the atmosphere. The store is beautiful, well organized, and feels very inviting. The customer service was amazing! And the team was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. I’ll definitely be back!
