Great Tune Up I had a tune-up done on my bike and a tune-up and a tire replaced on my fiancé's bike. The price of the tune-ups were about $75 per bike which I thought was kind of high. A couple days before they promised to have the backs back to us they called to tell me that the bottom bracket on my fiancés bike was bad and it should be replaced. Unhelpful would be an understatement Stopped here in the middle of a rainstorm. I had a problem with my handlebars, and needed a quick fix to get me home so I could bring it to my neighborhood shop, Lit Fuse (I wasn't eager to drop off my bike at Brooklyn Heights since I, too, paid a hideous amount of money to get brake cables replaced last year -- they did the job, more or less, but left everything loose). great shop I love this bike shop. They're fast, I'm always in and out with very little hassle, fair priced, and excellent mechanics. Fixed several issues on my commuter and mountain bikes, they really know what they're doing.
They may be thorough but they are too expensive I had my bike tuned up here recently and they charged an exorbitant amount. First they quoted $90 for the tune up and replacement of my rear tire. The man who quoted the tune up said replacement cables will be extra. Couple of days later when I went back for my bike, they charged me $160. They said they had to replace my brake cables. But I know for fact that brake cables do not cost more than $5/per cable. So, I don't know how they came up with the extra $60 of charges. Every ... read more
Avoid at all costs Do not make the same mistake I did. Doing any kind of business with the people at this place will ruin your day (if you're lucky). If you're leaving your bike for servicing it might ruin two weeks of your time. They don't open when they say they will, don't have a phone, and totally waste your time. Do Not Buy A Bike here if you expect to get it serviced. The service is TERRIBLE. Look around, read what so many different people have said about this place on different sites. Just bad things happening here.
