Wonderful location. Beautiful harbor view from the porch and cottage. The inn keeper was so welcoming and named Greg pastries each morning. We loved our stay and will be back!

I was certainly expecting something better. Yes, no breakfast. Also, no common living area for guests other than the front porch. I concur with Sasha's review a few weeks before mine. The mattress was a killer. Water pressure in the shower was weak. While others actively walked to town from this place, it was a little too far for us, so we drove most everywhere. So this is basically a motel in an old building.

Very disappointing! We visited Boothbay for a wedding and based on the website description were expecting “premium quality firm mattresses” and fresh breakfast. When we arrived, the innkeeper was on the phone and instead of putting her call on hold and greeting us she sternly proclaimed, “this is a private residence”. Confused, I said I was just looking for some water and she told me I needed to buy water. We showed ourselves to the detached cottage which sits behind the inn amidst some pleasant gardens. Website indicated no availability months ago. . So we called. She said she’d work us in but then said she wasn’t sure she could and wasn’t sure it went through when she tried doing it over the phone. We never heard from her again. Literally months later she says we are a no show and charges us hundreds and hundreds of dollars. During our conversation she admits she wrote down wrong contact info for us, never confirmed and made us pay full amount. Guest must Pay for host mistake.
