Put a new atk 454 engine in my 98 k2500. Followed the break in instructions from there website. Got about 80 miles before it started knocking. $3000 boat anchor now. ATK wants me to pull the engine and send it back to them on my dollar. Junk, should have just rebuilt it myself. 🤬 You have been warned.

Ten months past warranty with 47k miles on the motor and cam n lifter went on it. Oil changed on time with mobile one.

Why doesnt someone start a class action lawsuit against them and Summit Racing. They are obviously not honoring their warranty.

I’ve gone through 2 ATK flat tappet SBC350 engines within the last 18 months. Both professionally installed by 2 different shops. Following break in procedure, used high zinc oil. etc. and both engines have wiped the cams. These engines are completely worthless. The warranty process is a different headache. This company has terrible reviews for a reason. Save your money and go elsewhere

I run a repair shop and we have installed multiple ATK engines that were no good out of the box. Zero quality control. The vehicle in here now is getting it's 3rd ATK engine and they are difficult to work with. They insinuate it's our shops fault until proven otherwise. Don't do business with them. It's not our fault, it's their crappy engine which they charge top dollar for.
