I been using Atax for the past 5 years and never had an issue until now. My 2024 tax return was done by Arturo M as my annual accountant was sick. I agreed and gave permission to AM to handle paying for all of my owned taxes via call and email, based on total he calculated - including federal, NJ and any other taxes. Few weeks ago I received letter from department of taxation that my NJ state tax was not paid, so I contacted Atax and didn't get any response for a week. Their contractor stole $600 from us and never bothered to even file the tax forms for my late father-in-law. When we followed up, she had apparently fled the country with several people's money. While ATAX (specifically someone named Arturo and Alberto, the ATAX CEO) said they would make it right, they took our estate's tax and legal documents and then ghosted us.
