Astoria No. 1 has become my go-to for Chinese food in the neighborhood, and for good reason — the food is genuinely delicious. Whether I’m ordering for takeout or eating in, the flavors are consistent, generous, and exactly what you want from a comfort-food Chinese spot. Great food, amazing customer service!
My feedback is based on the service and treatment over the phone. I’ve never experienced such a rude phone person taking orders. He balked and was annoyed at every question I had. Surreal to speak to someone like this.
This is my go to spot for Chinese food. I like the chicken and broccoli which is not too oily and well seasoned, fried baby shrimp and fried chicken wings. The hot and sour soup is actually spicy and contains enoki mushrooms which is a nice bonus. I don’t like that they charge $1 for cc so I always bring cash. The workers are polite and efficient. The sauce and utensils are serve yourself which is convenient
