The facility itself is beautiful, and for independent living it was an excellent environment for my family member. However, when they required additional support and were moved into the memory care unit, the experience changed significantly. We were assured that the staff were experts in dementia care, but the day-to-day reality did not reflect this. TL;DR: Despite extremely high costs, Aster Gardens failed to provide even basic care for my grandmother with dementia. Repeated medication errors, poor communication, lack of encouragement for activities, and inability to handle simple daily needs. Predatory. From day one, we felt welcomed at Aster Gardens. The people, the programs, and the atmosphere make it a wonderful place to be.
