I rate Assurant (Renters Insurance) a negative star rating for their incompetence and bare customer service. This is the 2nd time I have had to deal with them in 3 years. Assurant emails are always NO-REPLY emails which is huge red flag of understaffing = poor customer service. I provided proof of insurance which Assurant acknowledged, then months later a reviewer not trained to read an insurance policy (???) rejected my policy and limited my response time to 10 days or I must purchase Assurant's policy. The service center couldn't replace my screen because they don't have the expertise or necessary software, and now I have to pay a $100 deductible for the phone replacement. Terrible service and user support, don`t recommend.
My claim was about a power surge outage. I filed the claim I never heard anything from a claim adjuster I kept leaving messages. This was the worst experience I've ever had. And finally, I reached out to the adjuster manager, and she emailed me. I lost all my food had no power for 22 hours. And finally, they sent me a email two weeks later saying after the investigation. There was no evidence of damage to my property. What a joke!
Miserable experience Took 14 days to do a spectrum insurance claim. 20 days later same phone inoperable. Same number replaced device that is in operable. I have full coverage fromnprevious spectrum plan
