I love Associated Bank for general banking. Even have my home and stuff through them. Great customer service and I have rarely had any issues. My only complaint is their currency exchange scam (which it pretty much is). They will totally rip off their customers and it isn't right. My best friends bank charges nothing for currency exchange. These guys wanted 1.40 per euro. Current exchange is 1.17. So I have to pay an extra 23 cents per euro to get a different currency for my vacation. Terrible unresponsive website for a car loan! Cannot set up autopay for a specific day or an overpayment, cannot see upcoming payments, does not work with the app, and crashes most of the time. 0 stars if I could.
Their webapp isn't amazing, but besides that I've never had any issues with this company.
I canceled my account after they closed the location in my area in 2020. I had been with them almost 30 years. Three weeks ago I received a collection notice for$123.97. In 2020 there was an automatic apple charge of $0.99 overdraft on my closed account. I have never received any notification until the collection company contacted me three weeks ago.
