My mom lived at Theresa's during the last year of life. She was 89 years old with moderate dementia. I considered it a blessing to have a place like Assisted Living by Theresa. It provided a warm, clean and beautiful home environment with healthy homemade meals and compassionate care providers. Theresa is amazing, dedicated and caring to the residents. She is directly involved in patient care and gets to know each resident personally. She was also readily available to talk with me.
Theresa's is warm and caring. Great staff my Mother felt safe and well looked after there. Clean and safe environment.
My father has been here for about six months. This is the first place that he is finally enjoying his meals. He is gaining weight and taking his medications. They have home-cooked meals and they are warm when they are served (If they are meant to be warm). Theresa and her staff do a great job keeping an eye on all of their residents. We moved our loved one out of this facility two months after admitting her to this place because of what we found out. The caretaker was very blunt with us and told us that Teresa is the main "care giver" at the facility and she has no medical background and is very moody, to the point of abuse for which she has been under investigation by Illinois. Theresa runs this place, including the care of patients. She has no medical experience or degrees and is elderly herself. She is not a RN, but uses a part-time RN when available. My elderly aunt lived here. Being very old, my aunt would repeatedly ask for things and I suppose she irritated Theresa because I found out from the Illinois Department of Public Health that they investigated this home and cited the home because among other deficiencies, including the lack of a consistent RN on site, Theresa was seen by one of the p... read more
