I went in with severe pain causing me not to be able to sleep at all. The receptionist was very nice and took me back right away. I waited a while for the doctor after being checked in. The check in gal was very nice. The Dr came in and was very nice but all he suggested was bloodwork so someone came to do that. Then I waited for a good long while. Several ER visits recently due to Kidney stone issues. Very disappointed with the Wisconsin Rapids ER. But that should surprise no one. I took my chances going to Stevens Point, they have an on call Urologist. My ER Doctor (Doctor Bell) was awesome, compassionate and a champion for my issue. I am very grateful for her helping me get the care that I needed.
Dr. Eng is one of the most compassionate doctors I have met. Nurse Maynard was incredible. I can’t remember the names of others that treated me, but I had such a positive experience at this ER. I had previously (earlier in the day) gone to Marshfield clinic ER, where they did NOT treat me, they misdiagnosed me, acted like I was a psychotic human and then sent me on my way. Before you go here to be seen in ER I would highly recommend going someplace else! The Doctors and staff were VERY nice, but have very limited resources. I had a VERY serious condition with a knee replacement done 3 weeks ago, they didn't even have a simple updated ultrasound machine to diagnose my problem. I was immediately hospitalized once I went to UW Madison and have to have another surgery to fix the condition. I went there twice in the same night, once by ambulance and was sent home both times.
