I paid $800/month for a studio in my year here, Feb 2025-Jan 2026, and that covered everything except internet. You can't beat that here in Los Alamos, especially for such a prime location. That said, after new management took over in the middle of 2025, they started charging for utilities for all new leases, so they're likely no longer cheaper than Plateau Property Management's apartments, which last I checked still do include utilities in rent. Not for me beautiful outside and a little creepy on the inside.
A dishonest property management. Although I cleaned the whole apartment and returned as it was on day one, they didn't return my full deposit by giving a lame excuse that they had to hire a company for cleaning. I know post docs and interns need accommodation while working in LANL and aspen apartment is one of the option. If you have other options beside aspen apartments surely grab them. AVOID aspen apartments.
