I am very dissatisfied with my stay at Ashton Place. The sides of some of the buildings have been rotting for months, which is the same on some of the other properties in DeLand by this owner. Inside the apartments are fairly nice. It’s probably not a bad place to live if you’re retired, but I wouldn’t recommend it for families and definitely will not be referring friends to them. My husband and I absolutely love living here. We recently moved from an overpriced, crime ridden, bug infested apartment into this little slice of heaven. It's been under a month and I couldn't be more pleased. Karen and John are so friendly and helpful, they really do a wonderful job maintaining the complex. Our neighbors are sweet, kind people that is a rare find these days. I haven't spotted any bugs, the rent is actually reasonable, it's peaceful and safe. Please avoid Ashton Place in DeLand. A background check was done without my written approval. I never completed an application for rent but only inquired. This is fraud and a violation of privacy. The office has a bad odor. Also, the office manager needs to improve her appearance, communication skills and learn professionalism. Companies are destroyed because of a few bad apples and can turn away excellent prospective tenants.

I've lived at Ashton place for over a year and it's a wonderful setting to raise a 7 year old. From the wild life (deer, owls, hawks, all kinds if birds), to the peaceful bliss of my backyard, to being able to have a small yard where they encourage planting, and also knowing Karen and John will always take GREAT care of us!
