Dr. Benda is the best. She’s real, she says it like it is and blends science / data with compassion and empathy. She completely gets how complicated it is to be a woman and I felt seen and validated by her. I went to her with my first pregnancy and she walked me through everything with such great detail and care… I think it was maybe 30 mins she was in the room with us. It was my daughters first time with a gynecologist. She had bad periods. She took her time and ordered tests and listened. She was great
This review is long overdue. My experience with Dr. Ashley Benda, DO, after my miscarriage was not just disappointing—it was deeply traumatic and the result of incompetent care. She performed my D&C after a missed miscarriage. Over a month later, I returned to her office still bleeding, with detectable HCG levels. Instead of ordering an ultrasound or taking my symptoms seriously, she brushed it off, telling me it was “decidua or a decidual cast, which is just a thick wall of endometrium.” That’s a direct quote. Benda has poor bedside manner and does not listen to the patient. She was condescending during a follow up and I would not recommend! I’ve been going to UCLA for 15 years and have always had elite care. This was by far the worst experience yet.
My kid and I have been going to her for a few years now. She is the most thoughtful and thorough doctor I have ever been to. I cannot recommend her enough. The staff that work at the office are also fantastic.
