My family and I have always loved Ashland Vet but my most recent experiences with them this year has definitely changed my mind. I have a 13 year old indoor only cat that I noticed a serious decline in her and I took her in to be seen. I paid for the most expensive blood panel and diagnostics that I could. They came back to tell me my cat had kidney disease and pancreatitis. The only treatment they gave for this was prescription kidney food and nausea medication. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this veterinary clinic. During what was already a stressful situation, the veterinarian chose to place blame on me rather than listen to my concerns. Even worse, I was essentially called a liar when explaining my pet’s history and symptoms. As a pet owner, I expect professional, respectful communication and a willingness to work together in the best interest of my animal. Instead, I felt dismissed, judged, and unfairly accused. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ashland Veterinary Hospital and the incredible team that cares for my cat, Maximillian. Max was diagnosed with diabetes last year, and they have been with us through every step of this journey. Managing a diabetic senior cat can be overwhelming, but the doctors, technicians, and staff have always treated us with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. I brought my dog in when she was sick, and they were able to work her into the schedule on short notice, which I really appreciated. Dr. Cochran was thorough, answered my questions clearly, and took the time to make sure I understood what was going on. Everyone on staff was helpful and professional, and they made a stressful situation a little easier to manage. I trust the quality of care my pets receive here.
I brought my dog in for a glucose curve. He is diebetic. I dropped him off with his insulin in a cooler from home. When I picked him up and my cooler, they misplaced his insulin somehow and cat insulin was in the cooler. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED MY DOG. Luckily we checked the vile. All my trust has been lost.
